Vehicle tracking and management system


The aim of this project deals with the “vehicle tracking and management system”. This system will be used for recording daily activities such as tracking your vehicles in different locations, they should be moving from one location to another. This vehicle tracking system will be able to track the movement of the vehicle in different location, the use of longitude and latitude using GPS will be used, hence it is recommended to computerize the process by developing the relative software as the world is timing into information and technology; computerization becomes necessity in all walks of life. Without vehicle tracking system, company was not enable to track their vehicle in case of accident, they can’t track the speed vehicle is being using, the use of IoT devices and web system will be used to Track and manage vehicle of the company, that will be useful and easy in Management of vehicle.

The aim of this Project is to Track and manage the vehicles wherever they are located using IoT components and web system through google map API. The GPS module that uses satellite technology for its navigation system will continuously give data like longitude, latitude, speed, distance travelled etc. We will also view the position of vehicle on a digital mapping i.e. on Google map with the help of our web system via Internet. For this, we will be using the software XAMPP and Google Map API. XAMPP is a free and open source cross-platform web server solution stack package consisting mainly of the Apache HTTP Server, MySQL database and interpreters for scripts is written in PHP and Perl programming languages. The MySQL database is used to store all the data of the GPS and Google Map API is used display the location information through a Google Map.

We will also be able to know the location of the vehicle if stolen and in case of accident; you can track the accident place to reach there without questing. Through our system, the vehicle documents will be recorded in the system help to alter when document out of date registered to be finished. This will help company to know when to pay for new document according to all documents of vehicles that have end date. Not only the document, also vehicles and drivers information will be recorded. The driver will be registered with specific vehicle. In case of any problem, vehicle and driver’s information will be used according to registered car, then, through the recorded data, the system show the exact location, vehicle plate number, speed and time of occurred problem.
