Smart Chicken farming IOT Project for farmers

Chicken farming is the most popular farming activity in Rwanda nowadays. As chicken farming is growing, the farmers need to know how they can manage their farming to be more productive; in that case, chicken farmers need to know the condition in which their chickens are growing so that they can improve the current situation to make their chicken produce more product of eggs or meat. When looking at the life of a chicken when growing, we see that the chicken needs water and measured temperature so the temperature does not goes high and not go low. The farmers always wander want to do to make their chickens grow well.

Currently, when the temperature goes low the farmers know that when there are at the farm but when they are not at the farm, the temperature goes low and it affects the chicken in most cases, some of the chickens die of this and others grow in bad condition and produce less product and when then chicken is for the meat, it takes many days to grow to the level of being eaten.

Chicken do need water when eating to help for their life as they consume most of the flour. The farmers need to check every time to see if the water are filled in the container so that the chicken will have some to drink but when they are not at the farm the chicken loses the water which is dangerous for the chicken.

When examining all the above situation, we come up with the idea of creating the project which will help the chicken farmers to know the temperature level and the level of the water so that they can take action according to the given data from the web dashboard instead of frequent checking which rise the problems when they forgot. This system is developed in IOT and Web; the IOT system will containing the sensors need to measure the temperature and the level of the water, and Web will be the dashboard for the admin to manage every data from the farm.
