The LM2596 chip is a buck converter and easy solution to build step down voltage regulator. This chip has high efficiency (about 92%). This converter chip is a switching mode power supply with the 150KHz high switching frequency, results in reducing the size of filter components. Due to the high switching frequency, this module is optimized to work with a small inductor.
