The IOT based Implementation of a fuel tank monitoring and thief detection system is a comprehensive project that aims to design and implement a hardware and software platform for the Fuel Management System (FMS) in fuel carrying vehicles. The primary objective of this system is to monitor the fuel level in real-time, providing an efficient and automated solution for fuel management.
This system is specifically designed for fuel carrying road tankers that transport fuel from oil depots to end-users such as petrol stations. By utilizing a combination of hardware and software components, this system offers an Automatic Electronic System (AES) that replaces manual monitoring of fuel, enabling accurate and reliable fuel level measurement and transmission of data to the owner's mobile, computer, and cloud storage.
The system operates by measuring the fuel volume in the tank using the fuel flow sensor, which sends the data to the Node MCU for processing. The Node MCU then transmits the measured volume to the owner's mobile and computer through the GSM network, as well as to cloud storage through WiFi and IoT ThingSpeak.
The system also provides a technique for detecting theft or fraud incidents in case of fuel theft or fuel leakage, enabling prompt action to be taken. Additionally, the system allows for automated analysis and monitoring of fuel level, reducing the cost due to the use of affordable and easy-to-acquire electronic components.
